The Walker's
We are Gary and Julia Walker. We moved to Canada from the UK in 2012. In July 2021 we moved to the 'Escape' with our two dogs Copper the Weimaraner and Kyra the Husky Mastiff Mix or Moo Moo as we like to call her. Our family is now complete with our 3rd addition, Brownie the Doberman! We want to share our front country home with you. Eco-friendly we are on Solar Power. No Cell Service, No Wi-fi, No TV, it's a game changer. If you are an eco-traveller, or have a taste for life off-grid and a small carbon footprint, you can join us soaking up the Mountain air in the Northern Alberta Rockies.
It was our time for that digital detox, time to disconnect! We have the perfect location, this place is for peace and tranquility. Return home rested and rejuvenated after total relaxation. Calm your mind and free your soul at the 'Escape'.

Rock Lake & Solomon Creek Wildland Park
Hike the mountain ranges amidst the beauty of the adjacent Willmore Wilderness and Jasper National Park. Wildlife is apparently abundant. Spot Flora and Fauna in the Alpine Meadows. Explore the forested valley of Mumm Creek. Just below camp the creek runs right through the property.
Location and Getting Here
North from the Town of Hinton (Gateway to the Rockies)
40km North on Hwy 40; Turn Left onto Rock Lake Road for 27km, 5 mins after you pass the green Rock Lake Provincial Park sign you will see the Rocky Mountain Escape sign on your Right. Turn right, we will give you the combination to the gate lock and 2.7km ahead you will enter the clearing.

Our Service to You
Gary and I are always around or not too far away should you need us for anything. You will always have a plentiful supply of free firewood on your private deck and should you wish to join us of an evening we often gather at night around the crackling outdoor firepit. Come join us at our 'Real Deal, Rustic Retreat'.
